Predict the major product on heating ethyl(n-propyl)dimethylammonium hydroxide and explain the elimination using a Newman projection.

Answer in brief

Ethene is the favoured Hofmann elimination product, accompanied by N,N-dimethylpropan-1-amine; propene can be a competing elimination product.
