Q6(b). Equivalence-point potential: Fe²⁺ with dichromate at pH 1
Calculate the potential of a solution at the equivalence point in the titration of 25 mL of 0.1 N FeSO₄ solution with 0.1 N Cr₂O₇²⁻ solution at 25 °C. The pH of the solution may be supposed buffered to pH 1.0 and also neglect the dilution effect. [Given: E°(Fe³⁺/Fe²⁺) = 0.77 V; E°(Cr₂O₇²⁻/Cr³⁺) = 1.36 V]
Answer in brief
Eeq = 1.17 V (vs SHE).
