Q2(a). Nodes in hydrogen 3p orbitals
Question
Find the radial and angular nodes in the hydrogen orbitals ψ₃pz(r, θ, φ) and ψ₃px(r, θ, φ).
Answer in brief
Both orbitals have one radial node at r = 6a₀; the angular node is the xy plane for 3pz and the yz plane for 3px.
